Bold, deep hues

While white, light and bright shades certainly evoke a classic feeling in the hotel bathroom, we think going bolder is sure to elevate any look. In 2018, a bold color palette filled with unexpected shades will make any bathroom feel like an escape. Try paint and tiles in jewel tones like dark teal, rich crimson, cool indigo or emerald green. These tones will warm up a bathroom space, preventing it from feeling sterile. As well, these shades will always feel luxurious and exotic, a facet that’s sure to delight guests.

 Matte fixtures

Matte finishes are one of the hottest design trends from the past several years, and that seems just as likely for 2018. Fixtures are an effortless way to bring this trend into your latest hospitality project. Matte gold, matte bronze and even matte black fixtures create a subdued yet sophisticated texture in any hotel bathroom.

More storage than meets the eye

Guests want to feel at home when they’re traveling. Expand on the standard vanity storage medicine cabinet and opt for extra storage that guests will appreciate. Try an integrated linen closet for extra towel storage so guests won’t have to constantly call concierge. Include luxe shower shelving with contrasting tile to add a pop of design and added convenience. The more places you include to (neatly) store things, the more at home your guests will feel.

Think big with “maximalism”

While there’s something to be said for sleek and modern minimalism. This year? Think bigger. Bold designs, eye-popping patterns and rich colors can look just as clean and pulled-together as a crisp white space.

Mixing textures

Gone are the days of simply smooth bathrooms. Try sleek tiles against rougher, knotty teak in the shower for a unique and natural tough. Think mixed blend bathmats and towels to bring texture to the room’s textiles. Even mixing larger tiles against smaller penny round tiles can create unexpected texture without mixing your media.
