WATERSENSE

WaterSense is a voluntary partnership sponsored by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). WaterSense works with a goal of promoting water efficiency. According to the EPA, the average American uses 88 gallons of water per day in their home. 50% of that water is used in the bathroom!

As a manufacturer, VIGO has partnered with the WaterSense program to ensure our faucets use at least 20% less water, and no more than 1.5 gallons per minute. We manufacture our bathroom faucets for water efficiency, in accordance with WaterSense regulations. At this flow rate, the faucet is just as efficient as higher flow rates, but uses significantly less water over time.

WaterSense certifications are not mandatory for plumbing manufacturers for sale in the US. But for us, our concern for the environment extends far beyond just what’s required. We want to be able to provide our customers with the most water-efficient products possible.

CALGREEN

CALGreen encompasses a number of building standard codes concerning fixtures sold in the state of California. For any plumbing fixtures sold in California, this certification is mandatory. This requires that plumbing fixtured must reduce the use of potable water (water for consumption) by 20% or more.

All VIGO kitchen faucets are to code under CALGreen regulations.

CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION

Another regulation in the state of California is a certification from the California Energy Commission (CEC). This is a certification that regulates the use of water in residential lavatory fixtures, including faucets and shower systems.

Under these regulations, bathroom faucets cannot exceed a flow rate of 1.2 gallons per minute. Kitchen faucets cannot exceed a flow rate of 1.8 gallons per minute. Showerheads and shower systems cannot exceed 2 gallons per minute.

We’re pleased that all VIGO bathroom faucets, kitchen faucets and shower massage panels are in accordance with the CEC regulations for water efficiency.

REDUCING WASTE

VIGO is also committed to minimizing the amount of packaging waste created through the shipment of our products. We strive to minimize packaging when shipping our products in order to reduce waste, while ensuring your new VIGO product remains safe and secure as it arrives to your home. Whenever possible, we nest our kitchen sinks to reduce packaging, and ship many of our products—even shower doors—in only one box.

VIGO is always keeping the environment in mind. We value our ability to make a difference, and hope you value our commitment to these standards.
